Who are we?
We're a group of highly motivated young individuals working together to design and implement a project to address a critical issue within a community in India. Each of us is dedicated to using our engineering and social work skills to make a positive impact in the world!
What are we doing?
This summer, PUC Team India will be traveling to a semi-rural village, Packianathapuram, in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. There, we will be working closely with the local people and a non-profit organization to construct a multi-purpose Community Learning Resource Center. Through the implementation of this community center, we aim to provide a central meeting space for discussion of social, economic, and political issues in the community. Our partner NGO, called CASA, is facilitating plans to ensure a sustained impact for years to come.

Our goals:
Our objective is to identify and solve a challenge faced by our partner community in India. We have each pledged to cover our individual travel costs, so your support on HornRaiser goes directly toward the costs of construction. This campaign will cover the majority of our project costs. This amount will go towards materials for the project, construction tools, technical advising, and cultural advising. Ultimately, these funds will go directly towards improving the lives of the people in this community! Additionally all donations are tax deductible, as donations through this site go directly through The University of Texas at Austin.
Our message:
By providing improved learning resources and a central meeting space, we plan to connect this community to greater economic empowerment, promote discussion of social and political issues, and improve education for women and children. We are extremely dedicated to this project and hope to use our academic skills to better the lives of others around the world. We will be posting periodic updates on our Horn Raiser page and on our blog to inform you of our progress. We hope that you will donate to help turn this project into a reality! Every dollar will go a long way towards making a positive impact in our partner community.

Your contribution will cover the cost of one CMU, or concrete masonry unit. These are the building blocks that will be used to construct the walls of the community center.
Your contribution will provide literature for this community resource center.
Your contribution will help furnish the community center with shelves, tables, and chairs.
Your contribution will provide the community with a local university student/professor to teach courses at the community center.
Your contribution will cover the electrical installation costs for this community center so that the community will have access to power for computers.
Like the Titan Atlas, whose broad shoulders supported the world, your contribution will cover costs associated with the construction of support beams beneath the structure and the foundation of the building.
Your contribution covers half the cost of the international travel, room and board for our technical advisor to accompany us.
Your generous (and very much appreciated!!!) contribution supports the basic costs to construct a community resource center for the village of Packianathapuram.
