The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society

Who we are:

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) is an undergraduate robotics student organization striving to serve a diverse community of students. No matter the experience level, year, or major, we welcome and encourage all students interested in robotics to join.

What we do:

RAS has competitive and non-competitive committees for students to participate in.

Our competitive committees include:

  • Robotathon: A competition hosted by RAS that helps students learn the basics of robotics by teaching them how to use different sensors and code in C.
  • Robomaster: Came in 4th place nationally at the 2022 competition! A video game-style competition where teams must defend their base and throw small balls at their opponents.
  • Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC): An autonomous vehicle designed to overcome obstacles and reach the end of its course.
  • Vex U: The newest addition to our student organization!

Meet Steve below!

Our non-competitive committee is:

  • Demobots: Students are encouraged to use their creativity to create robots for demos and outreach. Our most known demobot is the couchbot!

This is our couchbot!
