Our Crowdfunding Groups
Who we are: Our mission is designed to pioneer new techniques for exploring Mars and analyzing extraterrestrial materials through a simulated Martian environment. We aim to conduct geological research, map a detailed 3D mock-Martian terrain, analyze the nutritional data of plants grown in mock-Martian soil, and predict space weather events via the Musk Observatory.
What we’re raising funds for: For instrumentation, funding is needed for a drone, mounting equipment, nutritional analysis, a Geiger counter, a spectrometer, and a UV intensity detector. Funding will also be used for training in areas including astronaut operations, health and safety (i.e. CPR), and instrumentation certifications. Car mileage, lodging before and after our rotation, airfare, and meal and incidental costs will need to be funded as well.
Your impact: As the first crew from UT made up entirely of sophomores, your donation will benefit the growing scientific community on campus significantly. Our mission will enforce UT’s reputation as a hub for cutting-edge research and innovation. Once our mission concludes, our equipment will be donated to UT research laboratories, too. Demonstrating ambition and success through this mission will also empower faculty, staff, the student body, and alumni. In conclusion, your donation will catalyze a project with far-reaching implications for space exploration, academic excellence, and community engagement.
